The H.E.R.O. program is about kids helping to
stop the clock for death to pets. A good, pet
quality, dog or cat dies in this country every thirty
seconds because there are not enough homes
for these pets. The shelters have had donations
corporate and private donations have dried up
due to the economy. They NEED HELP!!

C'mon...Be A H.E.R.O. to a homeless pet near you today!
This program partners local school children with homeless pets from their area. Pets are
chose from a local shelter that may not be easily adopted. So many dogs that are adopted
out are returned because of preventable behavior issues. I work on the behavior issues of a
these chosen pets and the children write a short letter (usually one or two paragraphs) about
why you should adopt this pet. The letter, along with a photo of the adoptable pet, is placed
on poster board for display. Local newspapers are invited to write about the interaction of the
kids and the adoptable pet. If it is a dog, I offer a free in-home training session to make the
adoption more successful. This has a value of approximately $198.00. This helps to make
the adoption STICK and the dog will not be returned to the shelter later.
The children who participate in the program are provided with a H.E.R.O. ribbon and a letter
stating why this child is a HERO! The children’s classroom is given a short presentation about
basic dog safety (how to meet a strange dog, etc.). As part of the presentation I talk about
how local shelters need our help to STOP THE CLOCK and save a pets life.
If you are interested in participating this fun and educational program please contact us
today. We are also looking for donations of pet food, treats, and other pet care items for local
shelters. Local professional dog trainers are always needed to make this program a success.
